About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Elizabeth, If the student admits to cheating, it is definitely violation of the honor code. Research should be done, and the parties involved should be reprimanded. This will put a stop to all this nonsense. Patricia
Hi Kassy, I agree, but it is also just as effective to have guest speakers who did not struggle. Guest speakers are very motivating and inspiring. They are simply a "Breath of Fresh Air." Patricia
Hi Kimberly, This is definitely an attention getter. Students immediately become more attentive. Patricia
Hi Teresa, Super! You have the perfect set up to minimize cheating. I like how you have the two students per table seated at opposite ends. Patricia
Hi Jeni, As the old adages go, "Lead by example" and "Practice what you preach." Patricia
Hi Carolyn, It seems to mean more to students whenever you secure their signature. The student's thought is, this must be important. Patricia
Hi Alpha, Great points made! Why should you give assignments if you are not going to follow up? Patricia
Hi Kimberly, I love the extra personal touch you give your students. Your students will never forget your kinds ways nor will they forget you were always there for them. Patricia
Hello Amy, Seeing is believing. I like how you give additional resources to refer to. Patricia
Hi Gina, Absolutely! The student can see exactly what it is the instructor expects by having an example shown. Patricia
