About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Derrick, What kind of focused classroom activities do you conduct? Patricia
Hi Vinita, The syllabus is an effective tool in more ways than one. A lot of questions can be answered simply by going over the syllabus on the first day. Patricia
Hi David, Our focus is certainly the students. When we thought about going into this profession, we knew we would never get rich from it. The gratitude comes from changing one life at a time! Money is definitely not the motivator when it comes to teaching. Patricia
Hi Shellie, I understand. This student may need to look into taking anger management classes. Patricia
Hi Mary, This is the exact response I would have given. You are definitely on point! Patricia
Hi Jason, Absolutely! Students should not be allowed to cross this line! Patricia
Hi Victoria, Great points mentioned as to how to capture students attention. Patricia
Hi Jamie, It is important to be on your feet while students are testing. Just by standing deters a student from cheating. Patricia
Hi Danette, It is imperative that you interact with ALL students. You can not give or let one student have all the attention. You MUST spread the love! Patricia
Hi Steven, You have wonderful stories to get your students motivated and involved. Students appreciate real-world experience from instructors. Patricia
