About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Kimberly, I like it! I love hearing great quotes as well! Life happens with everyone, and students must realize that it is all how you react to life happenings. Patricia
Hi Lauren, Your students are very fortunate to have you as their instructor. You can really make your lectures applicable to the real world because you have experience in the field. Patricia
Hi Sabrina, It seems like you too are excited about the course. By the instuctor being excited about the course, the instrutor's excitement can generate buy in from the students. Patricia
Hi Larry, Great ways to get buy in from students. Students love it when they hear the success of former students. It gives them the motivation that they too can do it. Patricia
Hi Sherry, The syllabus is such a great tool to present on the first day and to refer to throughout the grading period. Patricia
Hi Susan, I am happy to know that you circulate your classroom in order to know what your students are doing, instead of sitting behind the desk and the students have to come to you for help. Patricia
Hi Susan, Anytime you let students know how the course will help them with their certification exam, they buy into the course automatically. Patricia
Hi Irina, It is simple, treat ALL students the same so that no student feels slighted. Patricia
Hi Kimberly, Rubrics are awesome! They leave little to no room for students to complain or challenge a grade. Patricia
Hi Regina, Students like it when we make the course relevant as to what is going on in the real world. Patricia
