About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Gayle, I feel this is a good way to capture all learners. You reach the visual learners, auditory, and at some point when appropriate I am sure you help the kinesthetic learners as well. Patricia Scales
Hi Ellis, I agree! Teaching is an art that has no end to it. There is always room for improvement. Continue to want to better yourself. Patricia Scales
Hi Truitt, Great point to stress with students about cheating. They have to realize that they are only cheating themselves. Patricia Scales
Hi Jamie, I love your tactics! You are clever in the way that you do things to curtail cheating. Patricia Scales
Hi Laura, I concur! You create a monster of an angry student when the angry student is confronted in front of others. Patricia Scales
Hi David, What a great combination to have fun while learning. Students are more interested when learning is made fun. Patricia Scales
Hi Noah, Continue to challenge your students! I like the idea of not just teaching to the test. We should give our students as much as we can. Patricia Scales
Hi Connie, Listening is key, and remember never to put yourself in harm's way. Patricia Scales
Hi John, I like how you get all students involved with the reading so that the silent students are more encouraged to participate. Patricia Scales
Hi Angelique, Younger students can be a handful. You have to let them know from the very beginning that you are not going to put up with their foolishness. Patricia Scales
