When building an online course, don't just copy a F2F format. Use the 4 O's of course design. Develop a good delivery system and monitor course effectiveness.

I liked the emphasis on responding promptly to students and how that reduces anxiety. I hope to respond as quickly as possible to students.

Courses can have aspects of both a synchronous and asynchronous course if the course is organized correctly and students are given a choice. For example, student can attend a live lecture or they can watch it later as a recording.

Hi everyone. I learned that technology can have multiple uses. For example, discussion apps can be used as a type of blog.

It was a good reminder that there are different types of understanding and application. Remembering is different from creating.

Feedback is with and for a student. It is not something that we do to a student.

Allowing students to use an alias may improve participation in online communities. I'm not sure if that is possible in Canvas?

It's a good idea to create a learning objects database. That way, I can recycle items.

The student type labels were informative. I have had an "intimidator" in my class before. I had to share the grading scale and say that I would use that as the measuring stick.

Synchronous discussions are best 1 on 1. 

Asynchronous discussions allow everyone to participate without having the conversation dominated by fast typers.
