e first class sets the entire tone for the entire course.  Building rapport, establishing clear expectations, and creating a welcoming environment from day one helps students feel more comfortable and engaged.  Taking the time to introduce the course and review the syllabus can encourage participation and build trust. 

One thing I took away from this topic is that effective teaching begins long before the students enter the classroom.  Taking the time to plan lessons, organize materials, and set clear expectations helps create a structured learning environment.

One of the biggest takeaways for me is that developing as an instructor is an ongoing process.  Effective teaching means more than knowing the material, it means adapting to different learning styles, seeking feedback, and continuously improving.  I also learned the importance of creating engaging learning environments where students feel supported and encouraged.
