Hi Melissa- Thanks for your post to the forum. You are using CATs really effectively.Using them in the online environment may make them even more effective as they can get quick feedback that will generate more discussion. Best wishes - Susan
Hi Ellen - Thanks for your post to the forum. You bring up some important points. I completed my graduate degree online with George Washington Univ. and as a survival skill was online at 5 a.m. - even the dog was still asleep! You do your students a great service by talking to them about their learning environment. Best wishes- Susan
Hi Cheryl - Thanks for your post to the forum. The description you give of your assessments includes some great ideas for kinsthetic learners. Thanks for sharing! Susan
Hi Rosalie- I know exactly what you mean. Does the Learning Management system you use ( BlackBoard, Angel, Ecollege) include a function that also emails your responses to the student within the discussion boards? Best wishes- Susan
Hi Kenneth - Thanks for your post to the forum that gives us some great ideas for dealing with kinesthetic learners. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Wow Patricia- What creative ideas!! You are obviously an instructor motivated to think outside the box and your students are the beneficiaries of your extra effort! Best wishes- Susan
Hi Dawn - Thanks for your post to the forum. This is a continuing problem with open admissions. Ideally we would have the necessary support for these students but when that is not the case , it is up to us to do the best we can with their limited skill levels. Best wishes - Susan
Hi Paul- Thanks for your post to the forum. Building "question points" into your PPT is an excellent practice. Too often we inflict Power Point Paralysis on our students by lecturing on and on without checking for understanding. Best wishes- Susan
Hi Cheryl- Thanks for your answer to the forum which gives an excellent depiction of how good questioning skills can aid the learning process. Best wishes- Susan
