HI Alicia- Thanks for your post to the forum which gives us an excellent example of how to teach to the kinesthetic learning style! Do you find that most of your students are kinesthetic? Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Katrina - I also find that coming up with ideas for reaching the kinesthtic learners is hard for me. What discipline do you teach? Susan
Hi Katrina- Thanks for your post to the forum. Asking students to share some of their own experiences realated to the matreial you are covering puts them at ease and encourages participation. Then, as you mention, you can move on to more complex questions. Great work! Best wishes - Susan
Hi Timothy- Thanks for your post to the forum! Your team is using assessments that are definitely appropriate for the culinary field. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
HI Robert- Thanks for your post to the forum. Regular assessment and timely feedback is essential. I agree with your strategy-there is no point in adding new material if your students not gotten what was taught the day before. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
HI Tina- Thanks for your post! I am a visual learner so must always remember to add Kinesthetic content. It helps all of us to "stretch" as we teach. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Hi Martha - Thanks for your post! Why do you think the class participation was so great during that class last week? Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
HI Robert- Thanks for your post to the forum. We also have SmartBoards - they are really terrific! Although some of our more "senior" faculty were resistant, once they'd learned to use the interactive white boards they were hooked! Best wishes- Susan
Hi Michelle - It's interesting how so often we THINK we know the meaning of a term but when asked to give the definition, we cannot! Best wishes- Susan
Hi Walter- Thanks for your post to the forum. As you point out, teaching to the learning styles does make classes more interesting. So many of my instructors share the latest ideas they've come up with and we all are able to use them in our lessons. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
