HI Matthew - Thanks for your post to the forum. I think most people think that the projects/designs should be the only type of assessment in that discipline, but, as you point out, there is a lot of factual/theoretical content that is btter suited for multiple choice, essay etc. Best wishes - Susan

Hi Ray - I try to be in my classroom early and to greet each student as they enter and ask how their week was, but asking those questions in the context of the entire class can indeed build rapport. John may say that he had a new calf born late last nite and Stan may not have known that john was laso a farmer. Thanks for sharing! Susan

Instruction approaches for kinesthetic learners

HI Barton - I was a paralegal in New York City in 1972 ( long before anyone actually KNEW how to use a paralegal!). Yes, kinesthetic would be a tough one for you although I'd bet not a lot of your students have that learning style. Thanks for sharing that activity! Susan
