About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Using a Well-prepared Syllabus

Hi Ray, I can't either. I use my syllabus as a road map for both me and my students. With the course expectations, requirements and polices spelled out we all know from day one how we are going to proceed to meet the goals of the course. Really helps to reduce confusion and frustration. Gary

Your Instructional Style

Hi David, By taking a few minutes before and at the beginning of class to chat with the students and making sure you acknowledge each one you will be sending a signal that you are approachable. Students respond to an open and friendly instructor. By being friendly you are not in anyway being less professional but you are showing that you care about their success. Gary
