About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

REFOCUS...

Hi Chad, I am sure you are right. I ask to teach other courses at times just so I can take a fresh approach to new material. Another goal I set for myself is to always introduce a new activity, strategy or project to my courses. This way I can be creative and stay energetic for the course and not let it be routine. Gary

Making Your Expectations Clear

Hi Jacob, This is so important because it sets the tone for the class from the very beginning. Once the students know the expectations, requirements and polices for the course they then know how to focus their efforts in the coming weeks. This also helps to reduce their stress levels because they have been informed and have a document to help them with understanding everything. Gary
