About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

By exchanging information and ideas the students can see other approaches to how solve problems or ways to provide solutions. Effective Motivation Techniques

Hi Louis, Good examples of how you can helps students see relevancy to what they are studying. Also, by giving the example of the student that worked 50 per week and yes was able to be successful in school is way to show them that anyone can be successful in school if they want it bad enough. They have to be invested in their own lives if they want to be successful and achieve their career goals. Success depends on how "hungry" you are and if you are willing to put forth the effort to capture the vision you have. Gary

Hi Jennifer, It sounds like you have already talked with her about her attitude and work habits, correct? You may not be able to get her to be a part of the class. I would talk with her about leaving the class and enrolling in a career area that she has interest in because it is obvious that she is not interested in this area as evidenced by her behavior. In terms of her use of the phone, I would suggest that cell phones be banned from the class. I have my students put them out of site and on… >>>
