About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Your Instructional Style

Hi Kerstin, I like your assignments. They sound like fun and that the students really enjoy doing them. As for developing more assertiveness in the classroom and with your students I would suggest list exactly where you feel you need to enhance your assertive abilities. This way as you read about or attend classes on assertiveness you will have specific areas that you want to work on. It will keep you targeted in your development. Gary

Your Instructional Style

Hi Charles, Good point about grading time. Each time I start a new course I make the assignments and then when the course starts to wind down and all of the assignments are turned in I start to wonder why I made the assignments I did since I am devoting so much time in grading. I swear that I won't make that many assignments again but then I do it all over again because the students need the skills that the assignments help them develop. Gary
