About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Hi Maribeth, Look at some component of your course area and then try to create a connection between the area and a life experience that a student has had. Generally you can come up with some connection and for those that can't I have found they will talk about why they haven't had such experiences and that gets them involved in the course which is what I wanted in the first place. Hi Madonna, Sounds like my students at times. 15 minutes can be a long time. I teach from 4 until 10 pm so I know what you are saying when you talk about after the dinner break. They are tired, full and ready to go to sleep. Have to be very creative to get them going again. Gary
