Experiences as an instructor

I have been an instructor for 3 years.  Prior to that I was (and really still am) a Medical Technologist for over 30 years.  I also have an MBA.  So, I bring alot of experience to the table.  I found out quite early on that teaching is a big challenge.  But, it is a challenge that I am up to, and it is a challenge that I like to tackle.  I love to see the faces in my classes light up when they finally grasp a concept that had been eluding them.  I love to see the smiles of accomplishment when the students master a previously difficult skill.  But, most of all, I love to see the sheer joy on their faces when they cross the stage on graduation day.  To me, that is one of the greatest experiences I could have as an instructor.  Another great experience is when I hear that my students have gotten a job in their field.  Some of them have told me that they could not have done it without me.  I reply back to them that it was ALL them; I just happened to guide them along the way.

Kevin--

This is an excellent practice--I have found that I can do much more with a student who has the desire to learn and will put in the effort required, than a smart student who is not motivated.

Kudos

I have been an educator for over 10 years now and I find it to be very rewarding. I didn't start out as a educator either and yes it is a challenge especially writing lesson plans and revamping curriculum.

I have been an LVN clinical instructor for over 10 years.  I love seeing the progress my students make and how much they grow in education as well as young men and women.
