This module taught me the difference between formative assessments (assessment for learning) and summative assessments (assessment of learning), and how both are important for measuring student progress and achievement. I learned that formative assessments provide ongoing feedback during instruction, while summative assessments evaluate whether students have mastered the required competencies at the end of a unit or course.

I will apply this knowledge by using quizzes, skill checks, observations, and classroom activities to monitor student progress and provide feedback throughout the learning process. For competency-based learning, I will use performance assessments, skills demonstrations, and certification-aligned evaluations to ensure students can successfully perform the required skills and meet program competencies before moving on to the next level.
