I learned that understanding your community is an important part of developing successful new programs. Talking with graduates, instructors, employers, and externship sites can help identify current and future training needs, as well as student needs such as transportation and accessibility.
I plan to use this information by gathering input from the community and employers before making decisions about new programs. This will help make sure the programs we offer are practical, relevant, and useful for our students and local workforce.
