From this leadership module, I have learned that effective leadership is rooted in self-awareness of personal values, a compelling and shared vision, emotional intelligence, trust-building through autonomy and transparency, and adaptive communication—especially in complex or dispersed teams facing change. I gained practical insights into balancing empathy with accountability, creating safe "holding environments" during challenges, mitigating biases, and using coaching approaches to motivate and develop others rather than relying solely on authority or external incentives. I intend to apply these concepts immediately by integrating regular empathetic one-on-one check-ins and connection rounds in my work with TdeA students, research collaborators, and political strategy teams; providing richer context and greater decision-making autonomy in projects such as the MGAR-ETN educational resilience model; and proactively communicating a unifying vision while actively listening to diverse perspectives to foster inclusion, collaboration, and sustained impact across academic, consulting, and territorial initiatives in Colombia. This will strengthen my ability to lead authentically and empower those around me.
