It is important for all instructors to acknowledge the vast differences that arise from each persons cultural beliefs. The goal is understand that cultural affects all aspects of our lives and each student will have a different experience. As an instructor, we should be open to exploring and understanding cultural differences rather than just tolerating them. Race is a social construct and everyone has a different understanding or experience with race. These experiences could be positive or negative. As instructors, it is our job to help students understand the differences in race and culture that may present themselves in the classroom.
