This module helped me understand that assessment should be more than simply assigning a grade. It should help determine whether students actually understand the material and where they may need additional instruction or practice. I intend to apply this by using a variety of assessment methods throughout a project, including observation, questions, demonstrations, and the finished product. In my CTE classroom, hands on projects give me a good opportunity to see whether students can actually apply a skill rather than simply recall information. I also want to use assessment results to adjust my instruction when students are struggling with a particular concept or skill.
