INSTRUCTOR ROLES, COMPENTENCIES, STYLE, PROFESSIONALISM AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:
Excellent course! As a new instructor I need to develop my roles as a Model, Manager and Motivator. From the video I learned if I love the subject matter and love the students, it will give me credibility from the get go. Explaining my high expectations and clear guidelines will let them know what I need to observe. That includes being on time for class. I also am the leader and need to display confidence. Components of Modeling, being a good Manager and Motivator include my dress, hygiene, language, conduct and timeliness. I am the leader and need to approach the classroom with confidence: Being credible, candid, compassionate, committed and clear. The biggest part of managing occurs before the classroom starts with good preparation. I also learned about technical, professional and personal competencies and how that will enrich students' learning. My personal development has increased greatly with this course and it is exciting that I get to become a good instructor by learning from courses, my school's training program and even professional memberships.
