Hi Andy,
I like to use guest speakers as well. My students really like it when the guest speakers tell them like it is, even though I have been telling them the same thing it is just more relevant when someone from the outside tells them the same thing. It is much like when your parents tell you something as a kid but you don't listen because they are your parents and then someone else tells you the same thing and you listen.
