Right! Every student has a prefered or primary way they learn best. As instructors, we also have our prefered delivery style as well. We have to be careful we're not doing what is easiest for us either.
Getting to that place where you are able to connect with all of your students by relating to them as individuals will take time and energy, but will ultimately serve your students better.
