Hi Ron:
Some students may sense the caring attention a prepared teacher will provide. Others may just expect it. And if class slows down, students are quick to lose attention. So, being prepared means keeping things moving along, having the resorces needed, ready to ask and answer questions, and convey your purpose is to teach them the best you can. It would hard not to appreciate a teacher who demonstrated all of the foregoing traits, I would guess.
