Hi Earnest: I believe frequent and early-on progress information is key to students understanding where they are performing, how they can improve, receiving on-course correction through suggestions, advice, along with encouragement and support provided with a kind, caring manner that suggests the teacher cares about the students success. There has to time for correction by the student for it to have an impact on their grade, so thorough (frequent and early-on) can make a difference in performance, understanding, and successful application.
