Building Business and Community Partnerships | Origin: HQ108

This is a general discussion for the following learning topic:

Business and Community Partnerships: Bringing Partners to the Table --> Building Business and Community Partnerships

Post what you've learned about this topic and how you intend to apply it. Feel free to post questions and comments too.

I know how important a piece it is to have community partners, but I also know how hard it is to secure those partners, especially in a rural, 70% poverty community, where a majority of one or more parents do not work and if they work, it is limited to 1-2 businesses.

I learned that it is important to have one of your community partners be a faith based leader. This is not something I have done before.

I will use this content to identify more engaged community partners first, and then to the lesser engaged partners, when I am limited in my own time and resources for coordinating things.

Something I've only become attuned to recently is how important documenting your progress and success can be when trying to communicate a story to potential partners.  Stories are important because they embody goals and allow potential partners to see entry points for support, whether that be time and talent or other.
