Activity

This course helped me learn how to assess student frame of mind in a better way. I plan to work on reaching students on more levels.

There are those student who come along and you know they either 1. didn't want to start the programbut their parents forced them to do it, 2. are doing it with a friend or sister, or 3. just didn't know what else to do and this seemed like a good idea.

How do you try and reach them and get them to care about the profession?

Just finished the class. I have to say it was very informative, broken down into segments well, and I learned a great deal.

I find that it helps a great deal to do hundreds of practice questions. It will never be the exact same questions as you will face on the state exam, but it reinforces information, and makes you more relaxed about how questions are asked.

I find using the Turning Point software in my presentations to be useful. It allows discussion on testing strategies.

We have a policy that students are not allow to use their cell phones during class. We tell them to give the main number for ermergencies (obviously this would not work for larger programs). There is a clear diciplinary chain in the syllabus. First time is a verbal warning, second time written, and so on.
