Activity

It is important to plan your lessons not only based around course curriculum but the students base knowledge. It will keep the lectures/lessons organized and provide good time management.

Good planning, a simple assessment test and a brief handout of personal info such as name hobbies current working enviornment etc... are tools I will be implementing.

I learned the importance of preparation and using various delivery methods of course content. This keeps students engaged and helps their knowledge retention.

Meet and Greet, as I did in the field with my customers I intend to do with the students. It sets a tone of familiarity and trust. The first day should be light hearted and for everyone to get to know one another.

Several factors impact students retention and decision to stay in school. It is important that the school provides a culture of understanding of the needs of the students on and off campus, such as carpooling, bus passes counseling etc...It takes a village to create an environment of success.

It is important to connect with students, listen to them and provide resources outside of the classroom setting. This creates trust and understanding that they and their feelings matter and are relevant. Thereby helping with retention.

Attrition begins with the instructor and involves the chain of command within the school to reassure/reinforce the students importance and future in their education.

The responsibility of student retention is all employees' duty n responsibility. The student's future and education are first and foremost, however their tuition pays the bills.

This module emphasizes the importance of being prepared to show the students that you are equally invested in their learning and education. Having a notebook at the ready will ensure you dont miss names, completion of tasks and grades, this in turn, allows you (the instructor) to be able to give feedback quickly to reinforce the students progress.

Lead by example, stay current within your profession to convey the best n most current knowledge you can, be committed to your profession n your students. Show them your commitment and be clear and compassionate about their education and new career path.
