I did gain some valuable information from this course but my role in our education process where I teach is different. I don't teach in a classroom . I instruct students who are in a externship for 12 weeks before they go find a job. The hardest part is keeping them motivated in finishing their course since they are biting at the bit to get out. It's only a three letter word yet it can change good advice into a negative result. I have given many a performance review over the years and I have learned that this word can do more damage that a flat out bad review. The word is "but". I'm sure you have heard or even said statements like "you did a wonderful job on the housing project Harry, but....... The word "but" just nullified all that came before it. First you must find out about yourself What do I want out of life? Am I happy with my situation now? If not what do you want to change? Your style of teaching. Are you light in your presentation or more serious. Unless we know our goals and styles it will be impossible to find others with the same objectives. Once we have determined our goals,let people know what they are. The old saying "birds of a feather flock together" applies here. Those with similar goals will migrate to you.
