I think the idea of ringing a bell puts pressure on the student and it actually feels atiquiated. There are other ways to celebrate students. One we we do it is by giving them swag or other give aways.

this is so true. Body language is key when meeting with prospective students.

It is important for admissions representatives to be knowleadgable on different askpects of the university.  

We have a small campus since we are a regional center of a larger university? What do you find helpful in giving tours given the small classroom?

We use a guidline style. It is difficult to use a script because each student is different.

What are some of the practical ways that you overcome hesitations regarding student loans?

At the University I work at, we continue the rapport with the student through the enrollment process. We even check in with the student at the completion of their first class. Since they have usually a positive relationship with the Admissions department, we are able to get feedback at the completion of their first class.

Transfer credit evaluations are done by the records office at our University.  I do give students general transfer credit information as stated in the catalog.  There are even times when the records office will do the evaluaton but the student wants to discuss the transfer credits with me in admissions. Most students are our univeristy come in with some amount of transfer credits.

What are some of the Titles used primarily for admissions staff? We use Admissions Representative. Are any of you using the word Agent or Specialist in your title?
