I have always used gamification in the classroom and feel it is a very essential part of classroom learning and interest. It therefore enhances the lesson to learn and makes learning fun.

How do you remember student names that are hard to pronounce?

I never hesitate to have the student repeat it to me and remind them they have a unique name and it may take me a few times to remember. I make a positive constructive comment about the uniqueness of their name or if it is actually a nice name I make sure to let them know.

Rules and expectations

I strongly agree Mr. Aguilar. Not only is it important to set the rules and expectations from the beginning, living up to their expectations is equally important. I usually ask for their expectations from me and put them on the board. That also sets the pace for them to realize exactly what will be expected of them.

Course Syllabus

I strongly recommend the use of the course syllabus. Everyone learns and remembers at their own pace and will have the syllabus to refer back to when needed. It will also let the student know exactly what they can expect from the class and the instructor.
