Staying connected and following up with the prospective student is important in the enrollment process. We have to give space in cases where the prospective student asks for it as at times that person will need time to discuss the information provided to either a parent or guardian. 

It also is important to be honest with prospective students about tuition and resources that can help them with being able to afford coming to the college/university. 

Pausing after each step is good to get feedback from the prospective student to move forward. It also is good to hear their concerns to help them especially when selecting between your school and another school. It is important to be empathetic and provide resources that can help them should challenges arise. 

Comment on Patricia Rudzitis's post: I agree with everything that you have mentioned. We do want to help our students and guide them to the resources that help them in their academic and career goals. 

Prospective students come from different backgrounds that motivate them to come to the college/university of their choice. Asking a combination of questions (open-ended and closing) and listening to them is essential in building trust and a relationship w/ the prospective student. Global listening is essential and a good skill to have that does take time to master. 

Comment on Mayra Montesinos's post: I found that bit about the admissions interview process being one sided true. I think it is good to engage with the student in that process so that way, the admissions rep would learn more about the prospective students and make the experience not only a positive one, but a personal one to them, too. This also helps the prospective student and the admissions representative in creating a path to help that prospective student in achieving their career goals and seeing if the school is a good fit. 

Having an established specific framework is important, not only for the school, but for the prospective students when they are exploring their career goals to see if they are a good fit. It is very important to develop a positive relationship with that prospective student. Having that positive relationship in the beginning can encourage the student to go through the enrollment process. 

Energy and attitude go hand in hand in our daily lives. Both of these are influential to us. It is very important to have positive attitude and energy especially in a professional setting as our energy and attitude impact it.

My scores show on the assessment and attitude that they are pretty high, especially with energy where I'm working on increasing my energy more to do new things or shake up my routine.

Having a positive attitude can boost your mental health as well as have a good impact on your colleagues and students. It also impacts students' performance and can have a good impact on creating a student centered environment at your campus. 

Active listening is important and it helps in our communication skills.  There are great tools that can help us in being better listeners and to enhance our skills to better our listening skills to better help others.
