Even though online learning is growing there is still a massive group of students who will gain more knowledge and retain more information if there are hands on activities and using real work scenarios.

Be sure to always promote safety weather you are in or out of your classroom. 

Make sure to be transparent when going over the rubric to make sure the students know exactly how they will be evaluated.

Active learning seems to be better than long lectures. However, lectures are important just make sure to keep them right to the point and steer them in direction to make a smooth transition into the hands-on activities.

Competency based education is important because it shows the students not only do they need to be able to perform the hands-on task but how they also need to be able to show they have a good understanding of knowledge/ theory behind what they are learning. 

Communication is important no matter what career you choose.

Technology has come a long way to assist in learning. Make sure to try to add it to the framework of your lesson to give students different means of showing the information.

Trades are not only hands on. There is a ton of knowledge of knowing the basics is also needed to then know what part of the system is not working properly

It is the instructor's job to model what they would like to see in return from there students.

The use of computers is mandatory in this day and age however, you can always improve on your skills whether it be organizational or being able to troubleshoot common computer problems all will help you save time and be more successful in the future.
