This section of the course reaffirms much of what our district is engaged in relative to CTE priorities/activities.    

The school-parent relationship is vital to the success of a strong WBL program.  Parents are the conduit to so many educational opportunities for students, especially in CTE. 

Advisory Boards must have a defined purpose, become and remain active - great point. Setting and reaching objectives enhances Board effectiveness and sustainability.

Teleconferencing and videoconferencing are common in today's world of communication.  They have their challenges, but are very effective modes of meeting and communicating with regard to time, use of resources and work accomplishments.

Advisory Board members have a very specific connection to job shadowing, internship and apprenticeship opportunities for your students within their own businesses and companies as well as with their network of contacts and partner.

The employer perspective has to remain at the forefront when considering ROI.  What is important to them and are their priorities is what needs to be considered and focused on, in a big way, in the relationship.

Good employer/professional relationships are what is key to strong, lasting partnerships in WBL.  You have relationships in all stages of development at the same time, so it requires specific attention to the level of engagement you are in with each partner and when you can bring them forward. 

Marketing who you are and what you do takes a lot of time and dedication.  Social platforms sometimes are not easy to navigate and require ongoing attention and maintenance.   With all of our responsibilities in WBL, this area is easier to neglect than others when it comes to social media.

Employer partnerships are key to a successful WBL program.  It takes time, resources and commitment on many fronts for the long haul.
