I learned some ways to help students introduce themselves and to get comfortable in the class

I thought the idea of a checklist is useful for making sure everything is covered. 

It is important to maintain professionalism during interactions and teaching. 

I learned that FERPA does not overrule all other acts/laws regarding student information i.e. military requests for information. 

It is important for everyone to have training and to follow up with someone if they are unsure of a process. 

I have learned it is important to know what is allowed to be disclosed without consent.

Student information is protected similarly to health information. If I am unsure if someone should have access to the student information, I would follow up with the school/director.
