Activity

Communicating effectively goes a long way. Use the correct strategy when communicating.

Immediate feed back helps students know they are doing well and helps them determine what areas the excel at and where they need to improve.

Get graded and submitted work back quickly as it helps keep them motivated.

Great teachers know their students!!

To help students remember content also called working memory, they must be able to see applications and illustrations of how the content can be used. Basically store it in their minds and then retrieve it when needed.

Building rapport with students can lead to less student management issues and increased focus.

By adding change and variety to the lessson you help students stay interested and engaged.

Physical comfort, security, acceptance and self respect are key ingredients that will help students succeed. Reward when reward is due!!

Believe in your students and they in return will believe in themselves, don't believe in them and they won't either.

Most people fall into 3 types of learning, visual, auditory and kinesthetic. You can learn from a combination of all 3 though.

You can use games and simulations during your teaching but students tend to learn more from simulations. The reason is simulations offer a real world experience which in return makes it easier to learn.

Color in the classroom:

Learning environment has a huge impact on a students ability to learn or not learn effectively. Color can improve learning if done correctly. Something as simple as seating arraignment can increase productivity in the classroom. Using music can stimulate the brain and increase learning but be sure to limit it.

Teachers and facilitators are not the same, teachers are typically one way communicators while facilitators are two way communicators. As an instructor you should be open to learning new things about the course even if you believe you have mastered it. Be cautious when addressing difficult students, choose words carefully.

Apply the different learning types to help your students learn. Not every student learns the same. Be effective in lecture. Use other delivery options to keep students intrested and engaged.

Meeting the class for the first stay is a very important day. It's your chance to tell a bit about yourself. You learn the name your students and get to know a little about them. Set the tone for the class on the first day and inform them what is expected from them and that you are happy to be their instructor.
