Activity

Keep grades up to date weekly to keep students informed and engaged, Make your grading policy clear, balanced and most of all fair.

Having the understanding that students sometimes lack the background knowledge to understand the coursework is vital. Learn your audience so you can adjust your instruction.

Power points need to be brief with large print. PP presentations need to capture the audience's attention with colors and highlights and animations.

Do your best to be early and prepared to set an inspirational tone.

Ask questions with specific learning goals in mind. Never try to "stump" a student.

Design thoughtful assessments that are goal oriented.

It never occured to me to plan out the questions students should be asking me. I will work to anticipate the questions to achieve better comprehension of my lessons.

Give students choices in how they are assessed, Using a "flipped classroom" by providing power points or other materials to the students is an interesting concept that I look forward to utilizing.

Have a flexible plan that can be adapted to the energy level of the class.

Provide an environment where mutual trust and respect are the drivers of success.

Functional frequent formative assessments that are not necessarily graded can help my students be more prepared for a summative assessment at the end of the course.

Lab work, de-emphasize grades and focus on learning in context to professional settings.
