I was not aware that schools had an option to be accredited or not. I know that accreditation takes time, but the schools in my opinion should at least be working towards accreditation and have a time frame for completion. What is the purpose of receiving an education from a school without accreditation? Most people who seek out education are looking for opportunities, and I don’t see how a non-accredited school can be of use. Having the option to go back to school is important, because qualifications for jobs are changing rapidly, and if a student goes to a school… >>>

Ethical decision making in any profession is important. Ethical values that were highlighted were trust, accountability, honesty, and qualified staff.  I intend to apply what I have learned by ensuring that my performance will provide a quality education. My question to other instructors, is what do you do when you feel you are not providing adequate instruction? What tools do we have to improve our skills, other than CEE’s?

I was not aware that there were regulations, and laws prohibiting schools from speaking poorly or recruiting students that are already enrolled in schools. I thought it was just proffessional courtacy. However, I do agree with the implication of reinforcing healthy competition between schools. When schools speak of other schools, the intent behind the message can not always be clear, so it could be information to help the student, or advertise for their school. Instead of trying to figure it out, these rules make things consistant and safer.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) opened the National Do Not Call (DNC) have implemented that after a person has registered for services, they must stop communication attempts after 31 days. This information was relevant to me, as a student and alumni, because students get thousands of advertisement calls, and are unaware of how they can prevent the calls. Being bombarded by these calls also make it difficult to realize legit calls from scams, and can possibly get emotionally draining. I would definitely utilize this service for myself and inform my students of this tip.

During this course I learned about the different regulations as it pertains to adjunct instructors. This information was relevent to me, because I am currently an adjunct instructor. I will apply this information, to ensure that my education and skill sets meet the requirments neccessary for my professional growth. 

During the training I learned that each institution accepts credits at their own discretion. As a student, I beleive that their should be a standard criteria for education across the board so that education is student centered. By allowing schools descretion, it costs students more money by repeating courses, and more time to accomplish thier accademic goals. By making courses in the same field unified, it makes educational aspects more clear for students.

I learned about different laws as it pertaeins to compliance and accredidation. Id utilize this information to ensure that I do my part in complying with my states regulations.
