Ana, Follow-up is such a critical part of relationship building and maintaining, so great job. What is the students reaction when you call? Dr. Jean Norris
Ana, Interesting is always good. How do you know the student wants to see the career services manager? Dr. Jean Norris
Asking about their goals is great, Ana. How do your student feel about that question? Dr. Jean Norris
Ana, Great advice! It is so true that the student is the expert in their own mind. With that being said, what is a great way to share other expertise with your students? Dr. Jean Norris
Great awareness, Julie. Jumping right in can be intimidating. Small talk can be as simple as the weather, or something big that is taking place in the world (i.e. the Olympics, or Spring coming, etc). Taking the time to build that rapport is essential for a successful student interaction. What are some other things you can talk about in small talk? Dr. Jean Norris
Julie, I can see how that would be a concern. What can you do to limit multiple students coming in at once? Dr. Jean Norris
Interesting point, Julie. How you think the student feels sharing personal issues in front of the group? Dr. Jean Norris
Julie, How about that?! What a great way to communicate with someone, and voila, now a better process is in place. Thank you for sharing! Dr. Jean Norris
