I learned that effective learning groups require clear structure, defined roles, and tasks that are purposeful and relevant to the course. I plan to apply this by setting clear expectations, assigning meaningful group work, and monitoring groups closely to ensure every student is contributing and supported.

I learned how important clear, intentional communication is in keeping students engaged, especially through purposeful movement, varied voice, and using memorable examples. I plan to apply this by being more mindful of my pacing, body language, and vocal delivery so my instruction stays clear, engaging, and easy for students to follow.

I learned that effective course content should be well planned, flexible, and delivered in multiple ways to support different learning styles and keep students engaged. I plan to apply this by using clear lesson plans, short focused lectures, demonstrations, and opportunities for students to practice and apply what they learn.
 

I learned that the first day of class is about setting the tone by being prepared, welcoming, and clear about expectations. I plan to apply this by creating a supportive environment, explaining how the course works, and helping students feel comfortable and motivated from the start.

From this module, I learned that strong planning, clear goals, and well-written objectives are key to effective teaching and student understanding. I also learned that students learn best when they actively apply what they are learning, not just listen to lectures. I plan to apply this by designing lessons with clear objectives, hands-on activities, and expectations that help students stay engaged and succeed.

From this module, I learned that being an effective instructor is about more than just knowing the content. Students are always watching how we act, prepare, and communicate, so professionalism shows up in being organized, consistent, and prepared. I also took away that a lot of good teaching happens before class even starts through planning, clear expectations, and thoughtful lesson design.

I plan to apply this by being more intentional about how I model professionalism in the classroom. That means staying organized, communicating clearly, starting on time, and reflecting on what’s working and what isn’t. I also want to continue… >>>
