The Hierarchy of Communication is present in most interactions, and is the key to meaningful dialogue. Improving listening skills is a personal goal of mine.

Body language is just as important in conversation as the words that are spoken. Being open to communication creates a better learning environment.

Be prepared. Be able to explain, effectively and efficiently, the more difficult parts of the course material. Students will always have questions.

Construction of a class flow plan is key to the engagement of students. Trial or "alpha" classes can be utilized to perfect this.

Course learning objectives should be evaluated for each class. Simulation is the most effective tool for learning.

The learning atmosphere can be controlled via lighting and sound for a better experience and potentially better grades.

Focusing on positive sounding ways to address your class improves engagement and learning overall.

Student feedback helps tailor the teaching pattern to an individual classes needs. Encouraging participation facilitates the need for student to actively learn.

Developing a teaching pattern makes course participation easier for students and sets a tone/ pace for the course as a whole.

Assessing the technology you have available and planning how it can tie into the lesson plan will aid the instructor throughout the course.
