Here is my brief history to date:

  • Graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in El Paso, Texas
  • Lettered two years in varsity football
  • Graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree
  • Joined Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity
  • Trainer or teacher since 1971
  • Trained administrative and sales personnel in various business skills including customer relations
  • Trained employees for businesses and taught career school students in computer application software skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, and desktop publishing
  • Developed training manuals, seminar material and implemented training programs for private companies and career schools
  • Teacher in Career Schools and Colleges, since 1992
  • Since 2006, Instructor for the University of Texas at El Paso’s Professional and Public Programs
  • In 2008, Received the El Paso Association of Career School's Teacher of the Year Award
  • In 2017, Received the Western Tech, Plaza Campus, Teacher of the Year Award
  • From 1969-1972, Coached the Junior Miners football team participating in the El Paso City Recreation Leagues
  • During 1970-1972, Chapter Advisor for the El Paso Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi
  • On several occasions, Bel Air High School recognized for support of the Bel Air Bagpipe Band
  • Recognized by The El Paso Independent School District for his work with Partners-in-Education Program at Bassett Middle School
  • Served a two year term on the Austin High School Alumni Advisory Board

Activity

Having done this for about 30 weeks...I have begun to contact students by both email and text messaging. Many students may not have access to the Internet all the time. I stress that a lot of assignments can be done and uploaeded for grades later.

Discussion

We are using the above LMS. I have been using it for about 30 weeks. Does anyone have any ideas on using any of the features primarily Collaboartion, Conferencing, and Shat.
