One thing that stuck out to me is if an online student says "I am lost" via text, there is likely a ton more going on in the background leading up to them making this statement and this would likely mean my teaching methods for this specific student need to be reassessed to ensure they do not get to this point again before saying something.

Early and frequent communication with students and staff is going to be key to success in the classes I teach/assist. Being 100% remote might present some challenges, especially being prn staff.

I love the idea of using real-life examples when teaching students how to use problem-based learning techniques in the material they are learning. This can help to engage and unite students on common issues and set the stage for them to use their newfound skills and apply them to classroom materials.

Class rubrics can help to reduce stress in the grading process and help the instructor in keeping students on track as well as be used as a guide in grading.

Being that I am a 100% remote teacher, it was most helpful for me to learn and understand that creating remote-based lesson plans tends to take more time than in-person lessons.

I learned that there are many forms of active learning and that by using a combination of methods such as individual activities mixed with small and large group work, students will have better chances of retaining newly acquired knowledge.
