I learned that making the connection is an important part of communication because it helps build trust and a better relationship with the person you are speaking with. It is not just about giving information, but also about making the other person feel heard, respected, and understood.
I learned that advanced listening is more than just hearing what someone says. It also means paying attention to their tone, emotions, and even body language. One thing that stood out to me is the importance of repeating and reflecting what the other person said, because it shows that you are really listening and trying to understand them.
Body language plays an important role in sales and in supporting student success within Admissions. Effective, unbiased listening is one of the first steps in building strong rapport with applicants, and it helps guide the conversation toward a successful enrollment. When applicants feel heard and understood, they are more comfortable being open and honest with Admissions Specialists throughout the enrollment process.
Clear structure is essential in online courses; simple, consistent modules keep students on track. Variety also matters; shorter videos and interactive activities improve engagement. Instructor presence is key, so regular announcements, feedback, and discussions help students feel connected. I plan to use weekly modules, shorter videos, and stay actively involved. One question I still have is how to balance flexibility with accountability.

Detailed Knowledge: Ensuring admissions representatives have a thorough understanding of the institution's programs, services, and marketing practices is crucial for accurate communication with prospective students.

This module has provided valuable insights into maintaining compliance in admissions processes, particularly in aligning organizational structure, program details, and student services with Florida’s Commission for Independent Education (CIE) requirements. I’ve learned how to effectively document staff roles, describe programs and career outcomes, and highlight student services like career counseling and job placement.
