About me

Activity

It is know in Admissions. Full disclosure, while understanding the students objective in pursuig/earning a degree.

I break the ice by finding "common ground", unrelated to school. Briefly touching on things like parenting (if I hear/notice children), the cahllenges of work, etc. The point being to ease there tensions, show them I am a real person with similar challenges/experience. This approach typically leads to great insight for their motivation in considering furthering their education/career objectives.

@RandyDaniels : So, what IS the difference between Regional Accreditation and National - which is better for a student intending to continue toward an undergraduate degree?

I understand that some colleges will not recognize, or accept Nationally Accredited/earned college credits.

Yes, the Compliance Training was beneficial in driving home the importance of remaining current, by accepting the inevitable changes within our industry. To be a knowledgable Admissions Representative, it is essential to embrace change, constantly update one's resources, and be diligent in knowing your instituiton and state laws.

Student services at your school may offer very beneficial resources for students. Resources that may include child care near the campus, tutoring available to students. etc. Career Services may provided career counseling, education on the importance of "soft skills" that should be noted during the interview process, as well as job [placement. Be sure to understand if your institution offers job placement or career counseling only.
