I think that most new instructors will try and overcompensate for how new they are, and they feel that they have to bombard students with a massive amount of information, even when simpler information would do well.

Why is it that some students will blow up if you try to correct them for a small mistake?

I have had some students that were trying very hard at running the class and some were more difficult to get under control. It takes thought on the instructor to not allow that person to run the class without causing a situation.

I go over the syllabus the first day of class as well as having the student introduce themselves to the instructor and to the rest of the class. I also try and make the class fun, with the understanding that the rules need to be followed.

Whenever you are starting a new class make sure that you have the knowledge that you will need for the class material. There are times when you may not have the information that a student wants, take the time to find it, don't just say we'll find it later and then never do.

With the copy right laws as they are and what could happen even when they are on an open form is a problem for some school, so to make sure that instructor do understand that they could be in violation of those laws and the school could be held responsible for their action is very important.

with this there are ways to save time and with ease to have other ways of input for the student to use when we want them to.
