I have realized over the years that its always good to start of with small talk. Going right into the sale makes most kids and families feel uncomfortable. The phone call should be used to set the appointament, the appointment is used to gain trust! Lets face it they arent buying what you have to offer they are buying you! @lisacaudll :

I agree. The financial process is not as immediaite as the admissions process so you need to learn to ber patient with the process and I try to help as much as you can as long as your statying compliant.

I am high school admissions rep and it is imparitive to stay in touch with your students on a regular basis. The fact that I work with high school seniors it may be  little different for you. I have found that text messages are the best means of contact. As you know this is the age of technology and high school kids no nothing but texting and internet. You also have to set reminders on your calendar threw your work computer and mobile device. I hope this helps!
