My role as the Administrator embraces the responsibility to oversee admissions as well as implement policies and procedures, and enforce operational compliances. Therefore, I am very aware of the content in the school catalog and enrollment agreements, as I am the one who maintains these areas. This makes it natural for me to have knowledge and information regarding all faucets of the school and the programs it offers.

To ensure 100% compliance is maintained at all times, I use a pre-enrollment checklist to help guide me through each enrollment, which ensures each step in the enrollment process is carried out in compliance to CIE regulations.  The sequential order of steps is important, since the commission requires specific tasks to be done in a specific order, such as all applicants must receive a copy of the school catalog prior to collection any funds from an applicant.  Also to ensure mandatory disclosures are provided prior to registration.

As the Admissions Coordinator it is vitally important for me to remain abreast to updates and revisions in order to ensure reference information is current and reliable.  Maintianing a notebook is a very useful tool for staying organized. I'm able to reference policies, procedures, codes and standards at my fingertips.

The tools addressed in this module are essential for maximizing engagement with prospective students for the purpose of gathering information to explore the interest, needs, and potential challenges of the student, in order to provide solutions and resources.  Asking the right questions and actively listening will help to gain a thorough scope of each students environment and situations that may have an impact of the successful completion of the program.   I am definitely going to restructure questions to avoid using the word "why"... I see the psychology behind this technique, and will begin to reframe common questions.

It is essential to establish a specific framework to ensure that the enrollment process is conducted in the highest level of efficiency and consistency.  The enrollment process is such a critical part, not only for the school, but for prospective students to explore career goals and to determine if the student and school are a good fit. Developing relationship and raport is also very critical in the enrollment process.
