In learning about FERPA compliance, I’ve gained a better understanding of how essential it is for institutions to safeguard student privacy and ensure that they are handling educational records responsibly.

FERPA’s main goal is to give students control over their educational records while ensuring schools handle that information responsibly.

From this training, I learned that preventing sexual harassment and violence on campus is just as important as responding to it. Schools need to educate students and staff about what constitutes harassment and violence, how to report it, and how to support victims. Prevention efforts focus on creating a culture of respect and awareness.

I plan to use this knowledge by helping raise awareness on campus, encouraging respectful behavior, and making sure people know how to report if something happens. I’ll also support efforts to create a safe environment for everyone.

From this training, I learned that schools must have fair and quick procedures for investigating cases of sexual harassment and violence. These procedures should treat everyone involved fairly, making sure both the person who is reporting and the person being accused are treated equally. Schools must also offer support to victims during the process.

I plan to use this knowledge by helping others understand their rights and ensuring fair treatment in these situations. If I'm ever involved, I'll make sure to be neutral, respectful, and supportive to everyone involved.

From this training, I learned that Title IX and VAWA require schools to have clear steps for reporting and responding to sexual harassment, violence, and discrimination. Schools must act quickly and support students who experience these issues.

I now know that if something happens, it’s important to report it right away, and schools must investigate and offer support. I’ll apply this by knowing how to report any incidents at my school, encouraging others to do the same, and helping create a respectful campus.

From this training, I learned that Title IX and VAWA are laws that protect students and staff from things like sexual harassment, assault, and discrimination. They make sure schools take action to keep campuses safe.

I now know how to recognize and report problems, and how to support others if they need help. I plan to use what I’ve learned to help create a safer and more respectful environment on campus.
