About me
I was born and raised in St. Louis…until high school. I spent high school going between Saudi Arabia and Switzerland because of my father’s work. After graduation, I attended college in Missouri until this cute boy passed through town on a motorcycle. After three dates, we eloped, and I have been married happily to Michael in Indiana for the last 31 years. We have two children; Ashley is 29 with an English education degree; she teaches in the classroom next to me. Our son, Scott, is a sophomore in college, working toward a degree in biology; he wants to be a veterinarian.
I went back to college between babies at Indiana University, earning my bachelor’s degree in English Education and then on to the University of Indianapolis for my master’s degree in English Curriculum and Instruction. So I could be home with my children, I began my teaching part-time in adult education: GED and ESL classes. After Scott went to school, I began teaching senior and AP English for a local school corporation while continuing to teach ESL two evenings a week; I’m still teaching both, and I love it. Eight years ago, I added teaching composition online, and I am thrilled to be part of Carrington College’s online faculty.
